Kennedy Center
Washington, DC
Opened in 1971 as a living memorial to former President John F. Kennedy, the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts is located on the Potomac River adjacent to the Watergate Hotel. The building was designed by Edward Stone. The center has 3 main theaters; the Concert Hall, the Opera House, and the Eisenhower Theater. Other venues include the Family Theater, Terrace Theater, and the KC Jazz Club. The Kennedy Center houses groups and institutions also like the National Symphony Orchestra and the Washington Ballet.
